What is BIOS (basic input/output system) In PC and how it Work 

What is BIOS-Bios is the first software program system. They launch or start your system "In a PC system the main BIOS is stored inside a microchip on the motherboard (mainboard), and your computer has the first piece of software when you (boot up) turn it on. The purpose of a BIOS is to make sure that everything plugged into the computer is working properly or not. It brings life to the computer, and the term is derived from the Greek word  bios means "life"

The BIOS's job is to boot the computer, sometimes called "booting up". This is the process that the computer prepares to use when it is first powered. When the computer is powered on, the BIOS starts and performs a power-on self test (POST). During POST, the BIOS will check various input and output devices in the computer such as computer processors, memory, video card mouse keyboards and others to ensure that they are present and functioning. 

After the POST is successfully completed, the BIOS gives a message to load an operating system, usually located on the computer's hard drive. When it finds one, it starts loading. And the operating system controls the system..

Note---- The configuration data used by the BIOS is stored in an EEPROM chip or a CMOS chip which is backed up by a battery. This data includes all of the basic configuration data, including device types and also the date and time.
